Itās hard to believe weāre nearly halfway through 2024. It seems like yesterday we were ringing in the new year, and now weāre looking at Q3/Q4 campaigns and goals. 𤯠Time flies when youāre having fun (and in the grind).
At Just Be Social, weāre focused on delivering great customer service while expanding our current capabilities and services (like this newsletter) to our current roster of clients and followers for the rest of the year. Weāre proud of the work weāve done so far as a social media marketing agency, but weāre discovering so many of our clients need a holistic approach.

Has Meta Lost Its Mind?
Great question! It would seem so. šµāš«
Lately, weāve noticed a massive dip in reach across every industry weāre a part of. While highs and lows are always normal (especially during summertime), the low numbers weāre seeing are unlike anything weāve witnessed before.
But thereās a reason for thatā¦
Meta recently launched a new monthly subscription model for businesses, all under the guise of securing that coveted little blue checkmark. š¤Æ
Plans range from $14.99/month to $349.99/month, which is completely insane for a platform designed to be free.

With a paid plan, Meta plans to prioritize the content of those who subscribe over those who donāt. While itās unclear how successful Meta will be with this model, the algorithm change is already primed, and weāre seeing that result in organic content reach.
So how do we move forward?
Weāre not changing a dang thing!
By continuing to focus on creating great, organic content, weāre sending a clear message to Meta that this type of algorithm and paid-to-play model is not what we want. Weāre here to market businesses for free (outside of ad spend), and messing with the reach of our content to make a quick buck is not okay by us.
People will always seek out quality, engaging, and entertaining content anyway. So, as long as we donāt deviate from strategy, weāre confident those reach numbers will start to go back up come Q3.
But rest assured, weāre keeping tabs on this development and working internally to be prepared.

Low Engagement? Try Thisā¦
Posting and ghosting š» is no way to win over the algorithm gods. But if spending hours online to engage with your audience just isnāt in the cards for you, then steal our 15 to 30-minute engagement strategy:
ā³ 5 - 10 Minutes
Search the top 5 hashtags (#) in your specific industry and engage with 10 posts by liking, commenting, and sharing content to your own stories (if relevant).
ā³ 5 - 10 Minutes
Search your specific town or city and spend time interacting with content under the āRecentā tab. You can find some pretty good stuff under this tab, including your target audience.
ā³ 5 - 10 Minutes
Scroll your feed and interact with the people you follow. You can also split this up and spend half the time responding to your own DMs, comments, and reactions.
Just a quick way to make sure you get that engagement in there and show the platforms that youāre active.
Bonus tip: To improve results, do this either right before a post is published or right after.
